Timothy Kirkhope Victorious in Conservative MEPs' Leadership Election

Conservative MEPs re-elected Timothy Kirkhope as their leader today.
Mr. Kirkhope won the election for chairman of the 27-strong Conservative delegation with more than two thirds of the vote.
Sir Robert Atkins was re-elected to the post of deputy chairman. Philip Bushill-Matthews was elected treasurer. Richard Ashwortn and Charles Tannock were elected to the Conservative delegation bureau.
Commenting on his victory, Mr. Kirkhope said:
"I am delighlited to have won the overwhelming support of my colleagues.
"I also want to congratulate David Cameron on his victory. I look forward to a positive and constructive working relationship with him and his shadow foreign secretary."
