Europe Calls for the Release of Alan Johnston

Leader of the Conservatives in the European Parliament and Conservative MEPs today joined fellow Parliamentarians in Strasbourg calling for the immediate release of BBC journalist Alan Johnston.
Speaking on behalf of his delegation, Timothy Kirkhope MEP, leader of the Conservatives in the European Parliament, said: "The European Parliament is making every effort to seek the return of Alan Johnston, who has been such an incisive journalist in covering the Palestinian situation."
Conservative MEPs this week also signed a joint motion for a resolution on the release of Mr Johnston.
John Bowis MEP will be traveling to Palestine next week and hopes to take the opportunity to talk to the Palestinian Authority Prime Minister in Gaza.
