Full Air Transparency Is On Its Way

Yorkshire MEP Timothy Kirkhope has warmly welcomed a new report which will have significant benefits for air travellers in Europe. The Degutis report updates the rules on the full liberalisation of air transport services within the Community. An article within the report, which was adopted by the European Parliament on Wednesday, obliges airlines to include details of taxes and charges in price lists offered to the public. It effectively means that airlines will no longer be able to dubiously advertise the price of a flight.
Timothy Kirkhope MEP, Conservative Transport Spokesman, said:
"This adds much needed transparency for passengers. It means that website prices and brochure prices will become open and clear. It is the right approach to ensure that price rises are not hidden any longer."
